05/24/2020 The ban on flights in and out of Malta has once again been extended, and will remain in place until at least June 15.

05/17/2020 Further relaxation of the Covid19 measures. From Friday, May 22nd restaurants may start operating again with restrictions. In addition, groups of up to 6 people may remain in public. Diving with customers is then allowed again!

05/17/2020 Another bright spot – Germany is in talks with Malta, among other things, regarding the establishment of “safe travel corridors”!

05/15/2020 Malta is currently examining the establishment of so-called “safe travel corridors” with Luxembourg, Norway, Serbia, Slovakia, Austria, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania and Israel. The list of countries is the first glimpse into the potential travel realities for Malta after the outbreak of COVID-19.

05/12/2020 Positive prospects for June. Instead of AirMalta canceling flights for a whole month, as happened in May, flight cancellations for June are now decided on a day-by-day basis.

05/04/2020 As of today, most shops can open again, except for restaurants and bars. From today, however, the mask requirement applies when entering shops and public transport. The use of the ferry between Malta and Gozo is now allowed again for everyone. Furthermore, we can now stay in groups of up to 4 people in public.

04/22/2020 Due to our low number of cases, the Covid19 measures could be relaxed in the next few days.

03/30/2020 Introduction of social distancing measures. Not more than 3 people may be outside together as a group if these people do not live in the same household.
Furthermore, from 03.04. Ferry traffic between Malta and Gozo is only allowed for commuters, doctor’s appointments, visits to relatives and delivery.

03/22/2020 From Monday, March 23rd. all other non-essential businesses have to close. This does not apply to supermarkets, bakeries and pet stores.

03/20/2020 Airport closure! All passenger flights to Malta beginning on March 21st. are temporarily suspended.

03/16/2020 From 03/18 all bars, restaurants, fitness clubs, discos and cinemas must remain closed. Take-away and delivery services are excluded.

03/14/2020 Extension of the mandatory quarantine! Everyone entering Malta, regardless of their origin, have to attend mandatory quarantine with effect from 13.03..

03/11/2020 As of today, all entries from Germany, Switzerland, France and Spain are subject to a 2-week mandatory quarantine. This also applies to people who’ve been to the following countries after 27.2.: Italy, China (incl. Hong Kong), Singapore, Japan, Iran, South Korea.

03/08/2020 AirMalta is canceling the daily flights to Milan / Italy due to the worsening Covid19 situation in Italy.
