Murella Living is one of the newest and most innovative accommodation concepts in Gozo. Each of its 24 rooms has been individually designed around coherent themes inspired by Gozo’s classic landmarks and traditional motifs. Each room features an artistic creation spread across a wall, either showcasing famous aspects of Gozo in stylized design (woodwork or wood carvings depicting things like tomatoes, cross-sections of beehives, prickly pear branches, and the like) or a mural depicting some of Gozo’s quintessential views. Even the corridors are adorned with abstract wooden works representing Gozo.

The marriage of quality and flair is evident in every aspect of the rooms and the broader building. The furniture and parquet are crafted from solid wood, and the rooms feature modern fixtures such as designer lamps and lampshades, ornate carpets, and bathrooms with funky designer sinks and organically colored pastel walls. The same effortlessness has gone into the green imperative: The building is intelligently designed for energy efficiency, materials are sourced from organically grown materials or manufacturing processes that minimize environmental impact.

The hotel is just a stone’s throw away from the promenade in Marsalforn, the largest of Gozo’s coastal towns – the town sprawls around an open bay, and the promenade is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and bars. Two small supermarkets are less than 100 meters down the road; around the corner, there is a taxi stand and a bus stop (buses connect Marsalforn to various points across the island).
